Stinson Explains Unlikely Collaboration With Puffy

Ryan Allen of Get Real Detroit caught up with former The Replacements bassist Tommy Stinson about his solo debut and asked him about his unlikely collaboration with Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs on a remix of Puffy’s hit ‘It’s All About the Benjamins’. “An A&R guy for Bad Boy saw Perfect play in New York and he asked if we wanted to come and do a remix for Puff Daddy,” he explained. “We were thinking that it would be kind of funny and we decided to do it. We did what we thought was our best bit for the song. We had the chorus and all that sh** and they really liked it, and they ended up using most of that track for that song. It just kind of happened that way.”
