Arista senior VP Jermaine Dupri tells Billboard.com he was quite familiar Bone Crusher, as the MC had designed a logo for Dupri, among other things. “He’s been around the Atlanta scene,” the veteran producer/label entrepreneur says. “He was in a group called the LGs [Lyrical Giants], who were signed to Erick Sermon’s Death Squad label, and a band called the Chronicle.” Now his debut album, ‘Attenchun!’, is ready to drop April 29th on So So Def/Arista.
The Source reports Jermaine Dupri has signed his first act since becoming a Senior Vice President at Arista and securing a distribution deal for his label So So Def with the company. JD said, “I’m going after a whole bunch of new artists. Bonecrusher is the first… He’s holding down ATL and he’s hot. I still got Da Brat… she coming this summer and then Fundisha. It’s time to make a whole new run.”
