Lloyd Grove of The New York Daily News caught up with Damon Dash at club NA during Wednesday’s afterparty for ‘The Woodsman’, and asked the Roc-a-Fella Records mogul if he’s concerned that Jay-Z will poach on Dash’s talent pool after being named president of Def Jam. “Hell naw!” Dash erupted. “How can I get left behind? I’m Damon Dash! Look what I’m doin’!”
Roc-A-Fella Records boss Damon Dash was on ‘Last Call with Carson Daly’ on Tuesday night to discuss his various ventures. Damon talked about the tragic death of Ol’ Dirty Bastard, who signed on to the Roc last year and had pretty much completed his new album. Dash wasn’t sure if the music would get put out, and said it was up to the family. He praised ODB’s work ethic putting the album together and of course was shocked by his death. Dash also talked about Jay-Z’s tour troubles with R. Kelly, his Pro-Keds sneakers, and his new movie ‘The Woodsman’, which he was executive producer. Read on for a transcript.

Damon Dash appeared at the 10th Annual Forbes CEO Forum, where The New York Daily News says the hip hop mogul told the Wall Street bigwigs: “We make our own movies, magazines and music now, and that’s why now we make all the money. We don’t need you to tell us what to do. You need to start talking to us about what to do.”
The New York Daily News reports Damon Dash and his ex-girlfriend are clashing again – this time over her claims he roughed her up when she tried to pick up their son in Harlem over the weekend. Linda Williams, 32, filed a complaint with cops accusing Dash and a hulking bodyguard of getting physical with her Saturday when she tried to get their 12-year-old son, Damon Jr., after a football game, for a court-ordered visit.
Damon Dash tells The Sun he wants to stage a version of charity gig Live Aid featuring rappers. “It would be an amazing event,” Dash said. “I would love for it to get off the ground. I share everything I have, all my wealth. If I can organize it, it will happen.”
