Dizzee Rascal spoke with ITN about how to write a hit song and his current work as a producer for new artists. “The key to a good song is basically making a song that’s yours feel like it’s someone else’s. Dizzee Rascal says winning a Brit under his own record label made him very proud, but fans will have to wait until 2012 for his new stuff. “It meant a lot getting the Brit because of all the years I never got it, and when I finally did get it, it was the Best British male, and then it was when I was fully independent,” Dizzee told ITN. “So I was putting the records out myself, and I’m not signed to no record label or anything, and I’ve got the top Brit award. Dizzee Rascal talked to Absolute Radio at the Barclaycard Mercury Prize 2010 nominations. Dizzee Rascal wasn’t happy at the Big Day Out Gold Coast festival stop in Australia the other day, when a concertgoer tossed a stick of deodorant at the British grime artist, hitting him on the head. “Dizzee went mental and understandably so. It was a pathetic thing to do and you could tell it really hurt him,” a source told The Mirror. “He leapt off the stage swinging his fists at a guy he thought had thrown it. Security pulled Dizzee away and dragged the guy out of the crowd. Dizzee got back onstage to cheers.” Watch him jumping off the stage below.
