Hip-Hop Artists Grace ‘Blade: Trinity’ Movie Soundtrack

Hip-hop artists and movie soundtracks are becoming a must these days. With that said, the soundtrack for “Blade: Trinity” is using that formula featuring a slew of platinum artists including Lil Flip, WC, E-40, Rza, Ghostface Killah and Raekwon. ‘Blade: Trinity’ is the third film in the ‘Blade’ franchise starring Wesley Snipes, Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel. E-40 Concert Ends With A Bang

The E-40 Concert held in Kansas City at Swope Park ended with gunshots fired within the crowd just moments after the artist left the stage. While exiting the concert, I saw people part like the red seas. At this point I knew the deal, someone had a gun. In the single blink of an eye 2 shots rang out; followed by screams and people ducking for cover. Within 10 minutes of the initial gunshots, there were several more as if a gunbattle was taking place (most likely between the gunman and KCPD Swat who were on the scene the entire night).

Nelly Again Tops The Charts

Topping the charts last week was Nelly’s new album ‘Nellyville’, which cleared 340,000 to beat out the Red Hot Chili Peppers who got #2 with ‘By The Way’ and Eminem continues to hold strong with ‘The Eminem Show’ at #3. Styles’ ‘A Gangster and a Gentleman’ sold a solid 135,000 copies to get the #6 spot. E-40’s ‘Grit and Grind’ debuted at #13 with sales of 52,000, and Onyx’s ‘Bacdafucup II’ sold 22,000 copies at #46. Early word has Dave Matthews Band one pace for over 600k in sales, so Nelly’s #1 run is done next week.

Rap Continues Top 10 Album Chart Dominance

Early numbers in from show Nelly’s ‘Nellyville’ album set to top the Red Hot Chili Peppers ‘By The Way’ for the #1 spot on the album charts. Nelly heads for the third week straight at #1, while ‘The Eminem Show’ looks to hit #3, ‘Irv Gotti Presents’ at #6, Styles at #7 with ‘A Gangster and a Gentleman’, and E-40 debuting at #9 with ‘Grit & Grind’. These numbers are preliminary though with about 38% of the sales figures in.
