K-os Readies New Video, Receives Award Nomination

Astralwerks prolific rapper K-OS is nominated for The Source’s ‘International Album of the Year’ award. The award show tapes in Miami on October 13th. Following the success of the video for his first single, ‘Superstar Pt. Zero,’ K-OS has recently filmed and is set to release the video for ‘Heaven Only Knows,’ the second video from his debut album on Astralwerks, Exit.

In an everlasting attempt to bring hip hop back to its essence, on the video for ‘Heaven Only Knows,’ K-OS enlists the help of Toronto born director Don Allan, who has directed MuchMusic video award nominated videos for K-OS and Jordy and has worked on projects with Iggy Pop and the Ramones, to offer the viewer education and a glimpse into music’s golden era as it relates to hip hop as well as jazz and reggae.

Rahzel & Everlast Announce New Band

Rahzel and Everlast were on Last Call with Carson Daly on Friday morning to announce that they’re forming a new band. Everlast said, “Yeah, well this is the first time — we’re starting a little band together called Last of the Real B Boys, you know? Yeah, you know, just because we both old, you know? The B Boys, you know, and I mean that in the good sense of the word, but, you know, we’re just a — one day I was sitting around and I was like, ‘what am I doing?’ You know, me and Rah been friends for a while so I was just, like, beat box, acoustic guitar seems natural, you know?” Everlast added, “I might as well do it before somebody else thinks of it.”
