Flipsyde are out with the video to their new single ‘When It Was Good’, the first release off the rap/pop group’s second studio album ‘State of Survival’, out April 21st via Kon Live Distribution and Cherrytree Records. “The song ‘When It Was Good’ lyrically deals with a relationship that has lost its fire and spontaneity,” rapper Pipe says. “The ‘When It Was Good’ video deals with the song from a social standpoint. It’s a story of one thing inspiring another, one artist sparking creativity in another creating an eternal upward spiral of truth.” Watch the Ray Kay directed video below.
Chantelle Paige of Flipsyde checked in with fans on the hip hop group’s blog at MySpace (@flipsyde) on Saturday (March 7) while on tour in Germany. She writes:
As most of you already know, Flipsyde is on tour in Germany! It’s my first time in Europe so the guys are all showing me all the ropes. Germany is BEAUTIFUL and I’m experiencing a different culture and LOVING IT! I’m even learning some German ;). The only down side is it’s freezing :/ that’s the only part I’m not liking (besides all the sausage and pork)! My friends are all back home lying out on the beach and it’s snowing here next week!
We are doing our thing over here on the Sexy As Hell Tour with Sarah Connor (sarah-connor.com/) and winning over hearts one German at a time! Dave is rocking it out, Piper is taking off his shirt and making all the little German girls scream ;), Steve is letting his amazing voice be heard, and I’m dancing and singing my heart out and pointing at little boys to make them blush (they’re sooo adorable).

Jinho ‘Piper’ Ferreira of Flipsyde reacted to news Barack Obama was elected the 44th President of the U.S. last night on his blog at MySpace. He writes:
People can feel however they may about the results of 2008 Presidential election, after all, everyone is entitled to an opinion. But there are a few things that are certain; for the masses of young and first time voters, those that became inspired to participate in the political process and had before been either too young or too pessimistic to care, they now know more than ever that their voice matters. These people stared into the haunting face of history, old and recent, and still had the will to maintain the courage necessary to not only believe in their ability to influence the direction of the free world, but act on it. The doubts were great, and the doubters were many. The counter arguments were based in pessimism and fear yet disguised in logic; but still these people acted on their beliefs. How dare these people believe themselves to be so powerful? Those that have run this country for countless years through ruthless economical maneuvering and back room deals have today seen manifested what they have always secretly known; the power is truly with the people. But there is something else that the ruling power structure of this country has always known; the people are slaves to emotion. When the people decide they have had enough they become emotionally charged and, for a moment, come together with a united purpose and relentless obsession in achieving it. But what happens after that purpose has been achieved? What happens when that intense emotion dissipates?
