Rolling Stone spoke with Murder Inc chief Irv Gotti on the controversial comments he made about the Jennifer Lopez remix ‘Ain’t It Funny’ which he had told about the track to Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs saying, “Puff, come listen to the new record I did with your old bitch.” Gotti admits, “I wanna apologize to J. Lo in the deepest sense. I truly apologize for the Elle magazine comments. I called her a bitch. This is J. Lo, and I’m referring to her as a bitch! That’s harsh. I killed her. I shouldn’ta killed her. She didn’t deserve that. I was high when I did the interview.”
Early numbers in from HitsDailyDouble.com show Nelly’s ‘Nellyville’ album set to top the Red Hot Chili Peppers ‘By The Way’ for the #1 spot on the album charts. Nelly heads for the third week straight at #1, while ‘The Eminem Show’ looks to hit #3, ‘Irv Gotti Presents’ at #6, Styles at #7 with ‘A Gangster and a Gentleman’, and E-40 debuting at #9 with ‘Grit & Grind’. These numbers are preliminary though with about 38% of the sales figures in.

While on the Tim Westwood Radio 1 show in the UK (Saturday 6th July). Irv Gotti, who was accompanied by Ashanti, confirmed that he has 95% signed Nas to Murder Inc. and will endeavour to keep the beef between Nas and Jay-Z on wax.
Groovevolt.com reports that even though Irv Gotti and Ja Rule were clamoring about how Nas was close to signing with Murder Inc., his current label Columbia/Sony claims, “Nas will remain a Sony artist.”
Well rap dominates the Billboard album charts this week again as Nelly remains on top with ‘Nellyville’, selling more than 447,000 copies, while Eminem’s ‘The Eminem Show’ sold more than 263,000 copies. Not to be outdone, Irv Gotti, the CEO of Murder Inc. Records, debuts in the #3 spot with ‘Irv Gotti Presents…The Inc.’, which sold some 193,000 copies.
Reilly Capps of the Boston Globe was on hand at the Summer Jam on Saturday night at the Tweeter Center, where Murder Inc.’s Irv Gotti made the news of the evening with word that he’s “90 percent sure” that Nas will join his label. As for whether being on the same label with Jay-Z would escalate their feud, Gotti said, “I’ll try my best (to calm the feud down). I don’t want to start no beefs with nobody. I don’t want nobody to die. You know what happened with Biggie and Tupac.”

MTV News spoke with Ja Rule and 7 Aurelius, who co-produced most of Ja Rule’s current album with Irv Gotti about his new album, ‘The Last Temptation’. Speaking about the new disc, 7 Aurelius said, “We’re gonna go street with this one. We’re still gonna have the radio bangers because he’s a signature artist and they expect that of him, but this one is gonna be for the players and hustlers.” Read more.
