AllHipHop.com reports Jadakiss has signed on to be spokesman for a new brand of cognac, Nyak (pronounced nigh-yak). The liquor, which spokespeople call “the first drink specifically for the hip hop generation,” comes in a variety of sizes including a 50 ML cigar tube which was designed by the CEO of the company, Patrick Charpentier.
Isaac Guzman of the New York Daily News was on hand at Thursday night’s “Powerhouse” concert at the Continental Airlines Arena, where Nas, Busta Rhymes, R. Kelly, Ja Rule and Ashanti performed, along with special appearances by Method Man and Redman, who joined Eric Sermon for a take on EPMD’s ‘Headbanger,’ and Ludacris and Jadakiss, who joined Nas for the remix version of ‘Made You Look’.
MTV News reports a multiethnic and mixed-age crowd filed into Manhattan’s Webster Hall on Tuesday night to check out Nas perform with guests Ludacris, DMC and Jadakiss. Minya Oh writes, “While many current hip-hop concerts feature mirror-trimmed theatrical sets and pyrotechnic displays, Nas’ stage show consisted of little more than three hype men (also known as the Bravehearts: Jungle, Wiz and Nashawn), longtime DJ L.E.S. (who worked a digital replay machine rather than turntables) and a gaggle of entourage members who filled the back of the stage.” Read more.

MTV News caught up with Ruff Ryders co-CEO Waah at his office in Yonkers, New York where he revealed the label’s plans to finish the year strong with releases by DMX and Jadakiss. “We’re going to have a full blowout. It’s going down,” he said Monday. “X is working. We’re looking to make another statement with X.” As for Jadakiss, Waah added, “Jada’s in the lab. He’s getting ready to drop some strong hip-hop. We’re looking forward to dropping him before the year is out. Kiss has about five or six songs he’s ready to lay.
