In a somber week for album sales that were released the day of the horrific terrorist attacks against the United States, Jay-Z showed fans still desire his music with shipments of 427,000 copies of The Blueprint. Rapper Fabolous got the #4 spot in his initial week with Ghetto Fabolous, selling 143,000 copies.
Jay-Z looks poised to dominate album sales this week as his new album, The Blueprint, has sold 299,987 units with 65% of the total sales in, blasting the nearest competitor, Nickelback, with 136k in sales to this point. Fabolous’s new Ghetto Fabolous also looks strong with 109,167 sales putting it at #3. Rap is unseen though after that until the #28 position with Juvenile’s Project English. Devil’s Night continues its weakness coming in at #43 as the group tours without Eminem.

Foxnews.com’s Roger Friedman reports Sean Puffy Combs, supermodel and perhaps girlfriend Naomi Campbell, and pal Jay-Z were turned away from the Michael Jackson post concert party Friday night at Tavern on the Green. The trio went to nearby club Eugene’s instead.
Launch.com reports Jay-Z has bumped up the release of The Blueprint as bootlegs of the album have hit the street already.
The album had been set for a September 18 release but instead will be released on the 11th.
Jay-Z announced the dates of his Blueprint Lounge Tour on Friday which will begin September 14 in Columbus, Ohio. Performing with Jay-Z will be Beanie Sigel, Memphis Bleek and Freeway.
