This week, Hip-Hop dominates the Billboard Hot 100 list, at Billboard.com, Usher’s ‘Yeah’ with Ludacris and Lil’ Jon remains at the top spot for the 2 week, while Chingy’s ‘One Call Away’ was this weeks Greatest Gainer in Airplay, moving up from #4 to #2, Twista’s song ‘Slow Jamz’ with Kanye West and Jamie Foxx is at #3, Outkast’s ‘The Way You Move’ with Sleepy Brown is at #4, J-Kwon’s ‘Tipsy’ is this weeks Greatest Gainer in Sales at #5, Ludacris’s ‘Splash Waterfalls’ is at #9, and Outkast’s ‘Hey Ya’ rounding out the top ten at #10.

According to K-Sly of 100.3 the Beat in Los Angeles, Eminem and Kanye West were amongst those who performed at the MAGIC Fashion Convention in Las Vegas. 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Game (Young Buck did not attend due to an ear infection), Busta Rhymes amongst other hip hop acts attended the event.

Kanye West’s Set To Get Own Label

The New York Post reports that due to the success of Kanye West’s debut album, he’s getting his own record label from his bosses at Interscope and Roc-A-Fella. The rapper impressed after ‘College Dropout’ sold 450,000 units in just a week, Interscope’s Jimmy Iovine and Roc-A-Fella’s Damon Dash are negotiating with West’s manager, Handprint Entertainment’s Benny Medina. The deal will include merchandising and a production clause.

It’s a very honest album.” West looks set to debut at No. 2 with ‘The College Dropout’, right behind Norah Jones’ latest disc.
