Lil Mama has issued a statement to explain why she ran on stage during Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ ‘Empire State of Mind’ performance at Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards. “I did not mean any disrespect towards Jay-Z or Alicia Keys,” the rapper/America’s Best Dance Crew judge said. “I admire them and look up to them as role models. ‘Empire State of Mind’ had my emotions running high. In that moment I came up on stage to celebrate my two icons singing about NY.”
Keke Palmer had a special guest at her Sweet 16 party in Los Angeles on Saturday night (August 22) – Lil Mama. “As an artist, we are bigger than just our artistry,” Lil Mama told the audience. “We’re people, we’re human. We bleed, we cry, we miss our parents, we miss our brothers and sisters and family just like y’all. And me and Keke, for real, this is my sister right here… So every time we get together, we bug out, we have a good time.” Lil Mama then let slip Keke had a crush on Soulja Boy, which Keke didn’t like her revealing. ‘The Noah and Katrina Show’ caught up with Lil Mama at the ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’ taping. The rapper was having some lip gloss issues, admitting, “It’s not poppin’.” She later thanked her lil friend Katrina. “You are one of my biggest fans,” Lil Mama told Katrina. “Everytime you come through you speak and say hello and I appreciate that.” The video clip at YouTube has since been removed.
