The New York Daily News reports Method Man was spotted hanging out at the exclusive Grand Lido Resort in Braco, Jamaica, over the weekend, smoking an herb that he might have been using for medicinal purposes, while watching Heineken’s Red Star Sounds reggae concert.
The 2003 MTV Video Music Awards added a little jiggle and a lot of stomp as Destiny’s Child star Beyonce Knowles and Metallica have been added to the roster of performers for this year’s ceremony. Jay-Z, Britney Spears, Sean Paul, Mya, Missy Elliott, Serena Williams, Method Man, Iggy Pop and cast members from ‘Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’ and Comedy Central’s ‘Crank Yankers’ have also been lined up to appear on the show, set to air live on August 28 from New York’s Radio City Music Hall. SOHH.com recently caught up with Method Man for a Q&A session, where the rapper was asked if it was fair for Def Jam to bill Joe Budden as the future of the label. “I don’t know why. I ain’t got nothing against the kid and sh** but I think he’s overrated son,” Meth responded. “For real, it’s just my opinion. As far as a person he’s aight and sh**. But I think he overrated dog. I think they put too much on him.” Asked what happened with his ‘Stung’ show with Redman on MTV, Meth said, “They didn’t give us money like that Ashton Kutcher. I got a lot of love for MTV but they call me for the little sh** they never call me for the big sh**. The show was small compared to ‘Punk’d’.”

Method Man drops in on Mary J. Blige’s first single from her forthcoming album ‘Love and Life’, due August 26th. The track, entitled ‘Love @ First Sight,’ has special significance to Blige. “It’s the way that I met the person I am in love with,” she says. “It was at a club. Our eyes met, and we knew. The eyes never lie.” Of her future with the unnamed man, Blige reports, “There’s some wedding plans.”
