AllHipHop.com caught up with Mystic and asked what’s up with her album ‘Cuts For Luck, Scars For Freedom’, which is due to be re-released on a major label in May. “Nothing wrong happened with the record,” Mystic says. “The reason it didn’t go further is because [Jcor] fell apart. Jcor shut down and it was completely out of our control. It turned out to be a really negative situation. But I’m really thankful for what [Jcor] did.” Dreamworks Records decided to pick up the album after agreeing to let Mystic re-work the album.
Y2G spoke with Mystic about her ideas behind ‘Cuts For Luck & Scars For Free ‘ where she talked about being able to be ‘real’, her advice for fellow musicians, the business of hip-hop, and her album. The site has since shut down.
Dan DeLuca of the Philadelphia Inquirer talked to Mystic about his latest album, Cuts for Luck and Scars for Freedom saying “It’s a very personal album,” and adding “Part of my responsibility as an artist is to be as open and honest as I possibly can. Then people can make their own judgments.”
