Rev Run of Run-DMC and his wife Justine visited the ‘Today’ show on Monday (August 4), talking with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb about their new book on parenting, ‘Take Back Your Family’. “We have family meetings,” Rev Run explained. “We run our household like a business. Reverend Run spoke with Us Weekly about his 4-month old baby girl Miley Justine Simmons. “She’s brought so much energy to the house,” the Run-DMC star said. “My wife cried the other day when Miley busted out laughing.” The rapper and his wife Justine adopted the American-born girl when she was a month old in September, a year after Justine gave birth to a daughter who didn’t survive. Joseph Simmons, aka Rev Run of Run-DMC spoke with The New York Daily News shortly after the tragic death of his newborn daughter last Tuesday. “Right there in the hospital room, Bishop E. Bernard Jordan” – of the Zoe Ministries, in which Simmons is a minister – “prayed over the baby and gave a sermon. The funeral director came, too. That’s how we did it. We prayed for acceptance. It’s painful, okay? But you don’t get mad at God. Acceptance is purifying.” Simmons said he, his wife and their five children are coping with their grief.
