Mariah Carey’s single ‘Loverboy’ featuring Da Brat & Ludacris was a winner at Friday’s second annual Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Awards in the category of top single sales. Meanwhile, top rap album went to Ja Rule (‘Pain Is Love’), while top rap single went to Lil’ Romeo with ‘My Baby’. Other winners included Alicia Keys, who topped the awards with four, Usher, Ginuwine, and Jagged Edge.
Lynne McNamara of the Vancouver Sun chatted with Lil’ Romeo who talked about how his siblings aren’t interested in following he and his dad’s celebrity footsteps. “They just want to be regular people,” he revealed. “Because my brother, he likes computers, my sister she might be an actor, but they just like to do regular things. They’re not really worried about getting to be a big star, just because I am. They’re happy for me. I’m the big star in the family now, we don’t need everybody to be big stars in the family, let ’em have fun.”

Several rap acts are hitting the talk show air waves this week, most notably Lil’ Bow Wow – who is promoting his new film ‘Like Mike’. On Tuesday, Bow Wow will be on the Rosie O’Donnell Show. Later Tuesday, check out N.E.R.D. on Conan O’Brien then Nas on Last Call with Carson Daly. On Wednesday, look for Bow Wow again on the Late Show with David Letterman. On Thursday, Will Smith will be on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Finally on Friday, look for Lil’ Romeo on in the morning with Regis and Kelly, while Bow Wow visits Craig Kilborn and Nelly performs on the Tonight Show. Check your local listings.

Lil’ Romeo celebrated the release of his new album ‘Game Time’ at a Times Square arcade with about 100 less fortunate kids from three New York based organizations to enjoy a day of fun, food and lots of games.
Lil’ Romeo and pop Master P attended the 3rd Annual T.J. Martell B-Ball Classic benefit game at Basketball City in New York City, which benefits the TJ Martell Foundation for Leukemia, Cancer and AIDS Research.
Master P and Lil’ Romeo called in to talk with KISS 106.1 in Seattle recently and chatted with DJ’s Jackie & Bender. Lil’ Romeo talked about where he learned his values, staying out of trouble, how the father and son communicate, how other parents have to live off of their celebrity kids – which isn’t a problem for Master P, and more. Latoya Hunter of Katrillion.com spoke with Lil’ Romeo ahead of his second album, ‘Game Time’, which is set to drop in June. The junior rapper gave a shout-out to fans saying, “I like just seeing all the fans out there having a lot of fun. I love them because without them there’d be no me.”
