RZA On ‘American Gangster’

RZA of Wu-Tang Clan spoke with Artisan News Service about his participation in the hit film ‘American Gangster’. “What I like about this film, in particular, is that the people who they chose to represent are not just your average hip hop artist,” he explained. “It’s not, ‘Let’s get this most popular guy and this most popular guy’. They got guys who could hold their parts, whether it was a hip hop artist or not. I like to take the word hip hop off sometimes and just say, ‘They went and got some artists, from the hip hop field’. RZA Addresses Rumors Of Beef With Raekwon

RZA adressed the rumors surrounding himself and Raekwon about discord in the Wu-Tang Clan on Westwood’s Saturday night program on BBC’s Radio 1. Raekwon had thought the new album ‘8 Diagrams’ sounded too worldly and wanted a punch in the face album, but RZA insisted the Wu is for the world and they’ve already done a punch in the face album, and he insisted that he and Raekwon have worked out their differences.
