Gym Class Heroes singer Travie McCoy is responding to Katy Perry seeming to call him out in the song ‘Circle the Drain’, a track off her new album ‘Teenage Dream’. “I heard she put out a song that’s about me, or about some old habits or whatever,” McCoy told MTV News. “[And] I look at it like this: I’m just stoked that she finally has a song with some substance on her record. Travie McCoy spoke with ArtistDirect in a video interview, where the Gym Class Heroes singer talked about teaming up with Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland for his solo debut ‘Lazarus’ on the track ‘Superbad’. “When I was younger, I was a huge Limp Bizkit fan! Especially Wes, whenever they threw a show you never knew what that dude was gonna come out on stage in. He was like our generation’s Gene Simmons,” McCoy said. “He was such a spectacle, so it was awesome to get him on the record.” Watch the interview at artistdirect.com.
Travie McCoy spoke with People.com about his first solo project ‘Lazarus’, out Tuesday (June 8), and a song off the CD called ‘Need You’. “Its about how tough it is to move on and explain to someone that you’re bruised and not really ready to pursue something,” McCoy explained, ading that moving on isn’t a reference to Gym Class Heroes, who he says have not broken up. Instead, it’s directed at ex-girlfriend Katy Perry. “But it’s not a stab in any way,” the 28-year-old said. “And I haven’t been sitting around for a year waiting for her to call me.
