Rap acts on television this week include Wyclef Jean, who performs with Shakira on ‘Live with Regis and Kelly’ on Monday; T.I., who performs on ‘Total Request Live’ on Monday; Ludacris, who appears on ‘The View’ on Tuesday ahead of his appearance Tuesday night on ‘Law & Order: SVU’; Nick Cannon, who visits ‘The Tyra Banks Show’ on Thursday; LL Cool J, who appears on ‘The Tyra Banks Show’ on Friday along with Queen Latifah; Big Boi of Outkast, who makes an appearance on ‘The Best Damn Sports Show Period’ on an unspecified night this week; and Saturday’s Kids Choice Awards on Nickelodeon features a performance by Wow Wow and appearances by Ludacris, Eve, Nick Cannon, and more.

Haiti’s Carnival In Port-au-Prince

Wyclef Jean performed at Haiti’s Carnival in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on February 28th. Carnival is an annual Haitian tradition and was attended by over 300,000 people for this joyful event which relives the sorrow of dreary everyday life. Wyclef is dressed as Jacues Desalinne, a hero of Haiti’s independence in 1904.

‘Dirty’ Premiere

Wyclef Jean In Haiti

Wyclef Jean, the hip-hop musician and founding member of the Grammy-winning The Fugees, traveled to Haiti to vote in elections considered crucial to saving this battered nation on February 8th. He thought it was a historic day for this country which is the poorest in this hemisphere. He left Haiti when he was young and is now evolved in many non-profit ventures to help his nation.

Wyclef Weighs In On Haitian Election Results

Wyclef Jean was celebrating Rene Preval’s election as Haiti’s president yesterday. But the Fugees member has no illusions about the task ahead. Wednesday night, as officials weighed whether to hold a runoff vote, Wyclef had warned The New York Daily News: “They have to let Preval be president. If the people don’t get this, we’re going to have a civil war on our hands.”

Wyclef Protects Brad & Angelina From Kidnapping In Haiti

Wyclef Jean tells ‘Access Hollywood’ that security for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt was not to be taken lightly on their trip to Haiti. “The mandate on Haiti is don’t go to Haiti,” Wyclef said. “The kidnapping is crazy. Thirty kidnappings per day that weekend. When they came in I got on the TV. I said, ‘Listen, I got Angelina Jolie here, I got Brad Pitt here. Please do not embarrass me this weekend.’ The whole weekend went by, and there was not one kidnapping.”
