The Source’s Youth Foundation Kicks Off Family Day

The Source Youth Foundation (SYF) and Russell Simmons’ Organization, The Hip Hop Summit Action Network (HSAN), will team up with KRS-One and local Miami artists to rally Florida youth with healthy messages about importance of nonviolence, education and the power of the vote. The rally will take place on October 11th, 2003 and will be held at the AT&T Amphitheater & Bayfront Park from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
They are seeking to reinforce Hip-Hop as a family-friendly, community-building, positive form of self-expression for today’s youth. The program itself will include a break-dance competition, a DJ battle and instruction on “turntablism.” Admission to the concert is free.
