Tommy Hilfiger’s Loss Is Burberry’s Hip Hop Gain

Tracy Rosan of New York Times was on the Brian Lehrer Show WNYC earlier this week talking about the shift in popularity between Tommy Hilfiger and Burberry. They didn’t really talk about the hip hop angle until several callers mentioned how Burberry was more “authentic” and wasn’t trying to push hip hop. But many brought up the urban legend that Hilfiger didn’t want blacks buying his merchandise. Audio has since been removed.
