Tyrese & Ludacris Team With R. Kelly On ‘Pick Up The Phone’

Entertainment Weekly caught up with Tyrese for a Q&A on his new movie ‘2 Fast 2 Furious’ and how it came about that he and co-star Ludacris collaborated with R. Kelly for the soundtrack’s ‘Pick Up the Phone.’ “I told Luda, no way in hell this soundtrack gonna go by and him and me don’t do a record together,” Tyrese explained. “So I was in Chicago working with R. Kel, and in the middle of a session I said, ‘Yo man, me and Ludacris are putting this soundtrack together so we need a jump.’ That was a big deal for me. I had a chance to work with the R&B king, and now he’s doing my whole next album.”
