Won-G Thinks Rap Should Mature
Won-G was on Soul Train over the weekend and talked with SoulTrain.com where he addressed the no vulgarity on his new album. Won-G says, “I just think right now America’s in a time of need right now. You know, don’t get it wrong — I used to do that back in the day, coming up as a child, as a youngster in the hip-hop game. But I think right now the world needs something more. The world needs something different. We want groups like [The] Backstreet [Boys], ‘NSync and groups like that that are reaching to the masses. I think that rap needs to mature, and I think rap needs to educate themselves by just not finding lyrics of expression through vulgarity, but finding lyrics of expression through education, so that’s what I’m trying to do.”
