Launch.com reports Jay-Z and his Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam partner Damon Dash have purchased Armadale Vodka. Dash said in a statement, “Roc-A-Fella has always respected quality vodkas, such as Belvedere and Grey Goose. Just like we do with our businesses, we wanted to present a vodka that represented the best. And we feel Armadale is of elite quality.”
Roc-A-Fella records CEO Damon Dash weighed in on Nas’ latest attack of Jay-Z after he pulled out of the Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert on June 26th. Dash said, “It’s all good, everyone has a right to their opinion. I mean, as long as we keep it on vinyl, I’m cool with it. Big shout out to Nas, if you want to scream my name out again and put my name in your rhyme, I think it’s funny. Let’s make some money from it. Just don’t take it so serious, man. Damon Dash, co-founder and chief executive of Roc-a-fella Records tells Ryan Teague Beckwith of Newsday that rap fans shouldn’t take the feud literally and should avoid “warring in the streets.” Dash said, “This is just music and there is no reason in the world for there to be any violence. It’s just for the sport – like when boxers box in the ring, they’ve got to keep it there in a controlled environment.”
Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com had dinner Tuesday night with Roc-A-Fella Records chief Damon Dash, and he used the opportunity to hype up Cam’ron and the Jay-Z stabbing incident. On Cam’ron, he talked about how Epic seemed releaved to let go of the artist to Dash, “I know trends, I know what urban people like. I know what they’re wearing and what they want.” He thinks Cam’ron is what they’ll be wanting now. As for Jay-Z’s stabbing of record executive Lance “Un” Rivera he said, “The guy wasn’t a good guy. The New York Daily News reports Damon Dash is at odds with ex-wife Linda Williams over custody their 10-year-old son, Damon 2nd. The two are in court with Linda claiming Dash was abusive and threatened her saying, “”I’ll kill you if you don’t let me see the baby!” Meanwhile, Dash’s lawyer, Ian J. Hirsch countered, “He is deathly afraid of her. In court we never know what’s coming at us.”
The New York Post reports Jay-Z and his buddy Damon Dash have agreed to star in ‘The Last Crew’. Director Abel Ferrara told the Post, “Hip-hop just started back then. so the movie will have a hip-hop flavor. They’re fans of the [original] movie and we’re fans of them.”
