Lil Mama has issued a statement to explain why she ran on stage during Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ ‘Empire State of Mind’ performance at Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards. “I did not mean any disrespect towards Jay-Z or Alicia Keys,” the rapper/America’s Best Dance Crew judge said. “I admire them and look up to them as role models. ‘Empire State of Mind’ had my emotions running high. In that moment I came up on stage to celebrate my two icons singing about NY.”

Jay-Z spoke with Billboard about his new album ‘The Blueprint 3’, as well as his collaboration with Kanye West and the evolution of hip hop. “‘Death of Auto-Tune’ was a rally call – it was angry because it was like, ‘Ok, enough of that. Let’s go! Let’s go! We’ve done that – we’ve heard those records’,” Jay-Z said of the album’s street single ‘D.O.A.’ “T-Pain – fantastic records. Kanye – great. But, let’s go, enough of that. Jay-Z Talks About Oprah, Haters & Obama

Jay-Z visited the Cipha Sounds and Rosenberg morning show on Hot 97 in New York City on Tuesday (September 8), where he talked about dropping out of high school, his efforts during last year’s presidential campaign, and wanting to bring Oprah Winfrey to Brooklyn.

Jay also talked about why he’s been silent about Damon Dash and the haters. “When you hear people’s gripe against me, it’s always about what I didn’t do for them,” the rapper explained. “They never say what I did to them, it’s always what I didn’t do for them.” Watch the interview below.

Jay-Z is speaking out regarding the leaking of his new album ‘The Blueprint 3’ ahead of its scheduled September 11th release. “I’ve learned to look at it as a great thing,” the 39-year-old said. “The anticipation for the album and how people want to hear it. The Game Disses Jay-Z And Beyonce In Madrid

During The Game’s live set in Madrid, Spain, the Compton rapper went after Jay-Z, leading the audience in a “fu** Jay-Z” chant during a freestyle that took on the hip hop mogul and his wife Beyonce Knowles.
